چکیده
The paper reriel\"s the known consequences of diffusion theory for the mathematical modelling of shrinkage, including the si::e dependence of drying half-time, and the initial and final asymptotic shapes of the time cun'es of total moisture loss, to which shrinkage is proportional. The mathematical arguments are extended and presented with greater rigour and generality than before, taking the non-linearity of the diffusion equation as well as ageing into accollnt.

Estimation of Evolution of Relative Humidity Distribution for Concrete Slabs
Realistic prediction of concrete shrinkage and creep requires the calculation of the distributions of relative humidity at various times. Although the distributions of the relative humidity can be computed by numerical methods from the differential equation for diffusion, simple prediction formulas can facilitate structural analysis. The purpose of this paper is to present a simple formula for ...

متن کاملEarly Age Shrinkage Behavior of Triple Blend Concrete
The early age shrinkage is responsible for the early age cracking of concrete. It is very critical for durability of concrete. The change in volume of concrete due to evaporation of water or dehydration process is known as shrinkage. To reduce the early age shrinkage utilized the supplementary cementitious material (SCM) in concrete. In present research industrial and agricultural waste byprodu...
متن کاملComparison of Permeability and Drying Shrinkage of Self Compacting Concrete Admixed with Wollastonite Micro Fiber and Flyash
Cement substitution in self compacting concrete (SCC) is emphasized to conserve environment, reduce cost and utilize waste materials. This paper focuses on comparing the permeability and drying shrinkage of SCC containing Wollastonite micro fiber (WMF), a cheap pozzolanic fiber with respect to flyash. Microsilica was added for providing required viscosity to maintain homogeneity of the mixes. T...
متن کاملEvaluation of Autogenous Shrinkage in High-Performance Concrete
Recent tendencies in concrete technology have been towards to high- performance concrete with a low water-cement ratio. However, high performance concretes have some problems. One of the problems is early-age cracking due to autogenous shrinkage. This study presents the results of an experimental investigation carried out to evaluate the autogenous shrinkage of high-strength concrete. Accordi...
